Italian Nespoli is crowned stage champion "Confusion" In the Sharjah International Tour

Sharjah, January 25 / WAM / Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development, crowned Italian cyclist Lorenzo Nespoli as champion of the third stage of the eleventh edition of the Sharjah International Cycling Tour, which was called the “Al-Haira Stage” and was held “against the clock” for a distance of 9.81 kilometers.
The launch of the competitions and the coronation ceremony were witnessed by Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Dah, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, His Excellency Muhammad Obaid Al Hasan, Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council, and His Excellency Mansour Bu Asiba, President of the Emirates Cycling Federation, along with a number of heads of Arab federations and officials of sports, security and media bodies.
The technical results of the stage resulted in Lorenzo Nespoli from the Hungarian “MBH Bank” team winning first place and the gold medal, followed by Jens Reynders from the “Qatar Professionals” team in second place, and Luca Giami from the “Emirates Gen Z” team in third place, while the shirts of distinction were distributed, with Rin Tarami from the Japanese “Kenan” team receiving the yellow shirts for the best time and the red ones for the best ascent, and Gene Reinders won the green shirt for the best speed points, and the white shirt went For the under-23 category, the leader was Lorenzo Nespoli, while Abdullah Jassim from the “Emirates Gen Z” team was crowned with the UAE flag jersey dedicated to the best Emirati cyclist.
As part of the accompanying races that aimed to enhance the community aspect of the event, the Emirati champions dominated the titles, as Sultan Al Hammadi from the Khor Fakkan Club won the youth category championship, and in the People of Determination competition, Saeed Al Dhaheri from the Al Ain Club was crowned first place in the wheelchair category (H), while players from the Dubai Club for People of Determination dominated the special bicycle category (C), with Abdullah Al Balushi winning first place, followed by his teammates Ahmed Al Badawi and Dhiab Al Muhairi, and the player Salama was also honored. Al Khatri in appreciation of her distinguished participation.
The Tour competitions are scheduled to continue with the start of the fourth stage on Monday, January 26, under the name “Eastern Stage”, which extends for a distance of 133 km, where the competitions begin from Dibba Al-Hisn Island and conclude at the draw rest in the city of Khor Fakkan.
