Mexico… Gunmen kill 11 people on a football field

The mayor of the Mexican city of Salamanca, Cesar Prieto, said on the Facebook platform yesterday that a group of armed attackers killed 11 people and wounded 12 on a football field after a match in the city, but the motive behind the attack is not yet clear.

Prieto added that a woman and a child were among those injured in the “unfortunate and cowardly” attack that occurred in the Loma de Flores area during a social gathering, describing the incident as a serious social collapse.

He added, “This incident adds to the wave of violence that we are unfortunately witnessing in the state, especially in Salamanca… Unfortunately, criminal groups are trying to subjugate the authorities, which will not be achieved.”
