14.2 million trips on the public transport system in Ajman during 2025

Ajman, January 26 / WAM / The Ajman Transport Authority announced that the public transport system recorded more than 14,225,167 trips during the year 2025, achieving a growth of 7.23% compared to 2024, in an indicator that reflects the effectiveness of the development plans implemented by the authority to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the transport system in the emirate.

The authority explained that this growth came as a result of a package of operational and expansion measures, which included improving the distribution of flights and raising the efficiency of the operational network, in order to keep pace with population growth and the increasing demand for mass transportation services, and enhance the ease of movement for various segments of society.

His Excellency Omar Mohammed Lootah, Director General of the Ajman Transport Authority, said that the results achieved during the year 2025 confirm the success of the authority’s directions in developing an integrated transportation system that meets the needs of society and contributes to supporting the goals of sustainable urban development in the emirate.

He pointed out that the number of public transport bus trips witnessed a remarkable growth, reaching 213,204 trips, an increase of 67.42% compared to the previous year, which reflects the increasing demand for using buses as a safe and reliable transportation option, in light of their high standards of safety, comfort and quality of service.

Regarding maritime transport services, he explained that the number of trips reached 5,887 trips during the year 2025, as part of the Authority’s ongoing efforts to maintain the sustainability of this type of transport and develop it to serve the needs of users.

Taxis also recorded a remarkable growth in the number of trips, reaching 14,006,076 trips, an increase of 6.6% compared to 2024, which reflects the efficiency of operation and the improvement in the level of service provided through this vital sector.
