7 teams from 6 countries participate in basketball competitions in the Arab Women’s Games

Sharjah, January 27 / WAM / 7 teams from 6 Arab countries will participate in basketball competitions within the eighth edition of the 2026 Arab Women’s Club Games, which is organized by the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation from 2 to 12 February next in the Emirate of Sharjah in one of the tournament’s most popular and competitive games.
The list of participating clubs includes Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Khor Fakkan Women’s Sports Club (UAE), Al-Fatah Sports Club (Kuwait), Al-Hala Club (Kingdom of Bahrain), Fuhais Youth Club (Jordan), North Gas Club (Iraq), and Al-Amal Sports Club in the tribal homeland (Tunisia).
Basketball competitions are held at the Al-Bataeh Cultural and Sports Club, which also hosts part of the official training for the participating teams, along with the Children’s Center in Raqqa, according to an approved operational plan that ensures a clear distribution that takes into account the highest technical and organizational standards and supports the teams’ readiness throughout the tournament days.
Muhammad Abdullah bin Halis Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Al Bataeh Cultural and Sports Club, stressed the importance of embracing a popular game such as basketball in the central region, noting that the club is proud of its sports facilities and stands that can accommodate more than 500 spectators.
In this context, the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation called on the public and basketball fans to attend the competitions, follow them from the heart of the event, and encourage Arab female players in a competitive atmosphere that reflects the development of women’s sports in the Arab world.
