With 525 thousand riyals in prizes.. Launching the fourth edition of "Designathon" In Riyadh
Tomorrow, Thursday, the fourth edition of the Challenge begins "Designathon"organized by Architecture and Design Arts Authority in the non-profit Mohammed bin Salman City "Musk" In Riyadh during the period from January 29 to 31, 2026, with the aim of employing design to create sustainable solutions that contribute to Improving the quality of life.
The fourth edition witnesses broad participation from creative people and those interested in providing design solutions to contemporary societal challenges in various disciplines and fields, along with more than 35 experts to provide support and supervision of the participating creative works.
The challenge tracks are divided into three main axes, including: "Design for everyone" and"Technology in design"in addition to "Design from place"This allows participants to choose the path that matches their interests and experiences and develop innovative design solutions and ideas in many fields.
Architecture and Design Arts Authority
The Architecture and Design Arts Authority allocated total financial prizes amounting to 525,000 Saudi riyals, distributed among nine winning teams with three places in each path, where first place receives 100,000 riyals, second place receives 50,000 riyals, and third place receives 25,000 Saudi riyals.
The goal is a challenge "Designathon" To develop innovative solutions to contemporary challenges in various areas of life, by raising awareness of the importance of design thinking, enhancing community participation and adopting participatory design methodologies, in addition to stimulating creativity and innovation in the fields of design, which contributes to strengthening its role as an effective tool for creating a positive and sustainable impact on society.
The fourth edition of "Designathon" In continuation of the successes of previous editions, the third edition in 2025 achieved a national achievement by registering the event in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest design hackathon in terms of the number of participants globally, which reflects the growing demand for the challenge among creatives and those interested in the sector.
