"Community development" and Dubai Digital launch a path "Senior citizens"

Dubai, January 28 / WAM / The Dubai Community Development Authority and Digital Dubai announced the launch of the “Senior Citizens” track as part of the Family Digital Balance Initiative.
The path aims to empower senior citizens and provide them with the necessary tools and skills to interact positively and safely with the accelerating digital environment.
The path forms one of the basic pillars of the Digital Balance Programme, which was previously launched to establish a culture of conscious and responsible use of technology in society.
The “Senior Citizens” path was designed to serve as a bridge connecting them to the digital world, not only by providing them with technical knowledge, but also by building their solid confidence in benefiting from digital services independently and safely. The program focuses on clear strategic goals that include enabling them to fully benefit from government services, digital health, and educating them about mechanisms to protect against electronic risks and fraud, which reflects positively on their mental and physical health and enhances the quality of their daily lives.
Muhannad Saeed, Director of the Senior Citizens Department, said, “The digital well-being of senior citizens is an integral part of the quality of life that we seek to provide in Dubai. Through the Senior Citizens Path, we move from the general concept of digital balance to a practical and customized application that directly touches the needs of our fathers and mothers. We aim to empower them to become active and confident participants in the digital society, and employ these tools to enhance their social communication, health and well-being, in addition to teaching them how to use technology in a safe and responsible manner.”
For his part, Ghaith Matar Al Mazeina, Senior Director of the Digital City Department at the Dubai Digital Authority, said that the initiative represents a practical embodiment of the concept of integration in government work that places citizens at the top of priorities, and an affirmation that digital transformation in Dubai primarily aims to provide digital luxury and comfort for all segments of society.
The program will be implemented through carefully designed training workshops to suit the categories of senior citizens (60 years and above) and retirees (55 years and above) and to ensure maximum effectiveness.
