In preparation for opening registration in public schools…the Ministry of Education calls on parents to update data

The Ministry of Education called on parents to update their data in preparation for opening registration for students in public schools for the academic year 2026-2027.
The Ministry stressed, through its account on the Instagram platform, the necessity of updating the data of the current parent or guardian related to the digital identity before submitting a request to register and accept a student in a government school.
The Council for Education, Human Development and Society had adopted the decision to amend the admission age for kindergarten and first grade in public and private schools, to be implemented starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, within the framework of reviewing educational policies in line with educational developments and the needs of society, and enhances the quality of early education and the sustainability of its outcomes, within an approach to continuous development of evidence-based educational systems.
According to the decision, the date of December 31 of the year of enrollment was adopted as the official date for calculating the age of admission to schools and kindergartens whose academic year begins in the months of August or September, while the date of March 31 continues to apply to schools and kindergartens whose academic year begins in April, according to their approved system, and these dates will be applied starting from the academic year 2026-2027 for new students in the kindergarten and first grade stages.
