Dubai Islamic records 225 thousand fatwas during 2025

DUBAI, 30th January, 2020 (WAM) – The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai recorded during the year 2025 the submission of 225,608 legal fatwas through an integrated fatwa system that included oral, electronic, and official channels, in addition to direct fatwa councils in mosques, schools, and government and private institutions, in an indicator that reflects the growing community confidence in institutional fatwa services and the high level of awareness of the importance of referring to approved legal authorities.

The department explained that this achievement was achieved through developing fatwa channels and expanding access to them in a way that keeps pace with the needs of various segments of society and ensures that fatwas are presented with flexibility, confidentiality and scientific accuracy in a way that supports family stability and consolidates moderate religious values.

Statistics for 2025 showed remarkable growth compared to 2024, which reflects the success of smart transformation plans, raising the efficiency of the fatwa system, and integrating efforts to provide quality religious services that respond to the changes of contemporary life.
