Ibn Touq discusses with the Indian Minister of Civil Aviation the strengthening of bilateral cooperation

Hyderabad, 30 January / WAM / His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Civil Aviation Authority, discussed with His Excellency Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu, Minister of Civil Aviation of the Republic of India, ways to enhance joint cooperation in the aviation sector, and develop the bilateral partnership in a way that supports economic and investment growth between the two countries.
This came during a meeting held by the two sides on the sidelines of His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq’s participation in the “Wings of India 2026” conference, held in the city of Hyderabad in the Republic of India.
The two sides stressed the strength of the UAE-Indian relations and the continuous development they are witnessing in various fields, especially economic and tourism, which has been directly reflected in the growth of air transport and the volume of travel between the two countries.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq pointed out that air traffic between the UAE and the Republic of India is witnessing great activity, as the number of direct flights between the cities of the two countries is about 1,231 flights per week, operated by the national carriers of both countries, which reflects the high level of demand and the strength of the air connectivity between the two sides.
His Excellency said that India topped the markets sending visitors to the UAE, accounting for 14% of the total international visitors. This reflects the advanced position that the UAE enjoys in the Indian market, and confirms the strength of tourism and economic ties between the two countries, in addition to the success of flexible national tourism policies in attracting visitors from this vital market.
His Excellency explained that this momentum in the aviation and tourism sectors is a natural translation of the strong economic partnership between the UAE and India, stressing the importance of continuing coordination and joint cooperation to support the growth of travel traffic and enhance air connectivity to serve the interests of the two countries and their people.
