Sheikh Zayed Festival announces the opening of registration for the largest Ramadan tournament with record prizes
Abu Dhabi, January 31 / WAM / The Sheikh Zayed Festival officially announced the opening of registration for the exceptional edition of its Ramadan Championship for the year 2026, which is the largest of its kind in the UAE in terms of the number of sports, the volume of participation, and the value of the prizes.
The tournament activities will start from the 2nd to the 19th of Ramadan next February, over the course of 18 days of competitions, excitement and celebrations, in a unique sporting event that combines the spirit of the holy month with competitive enthusiasm, and attracts an elite group of professionals and amateurs of all ages.
The festival revealed an exceptional prize package amounting to 4.5 million dirhams, which includes direct financial prizes for the winners in various sports, in addition to daily draws for the public and participants throughout the tournament, enhancing the festive and family character of this largest sporting event in the region.
The tournament comes within the activities of the Sheikh Zayed Festival, which extends over 142 days annually, and attracts participants from 27 countries and more than 8,000 participants, while the number of visitors exceeds 2.5 million visitors annually, which reflects its status as one of the most prominent cultural and sporting events in the region.
The tournament offers a wide mix of more than 14 individual and team sports that meet various interests, as it includes martial arts such as jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, and judo, in addition to team sports such as football, triple basketball, and beach volleyball, in addition to racket sports such as padel, table tennis, and badminton, and individual sports such as running, cycling, and chess, in addition to authentic traditional sports such as tug of war and wrestling, in an integrated combination that combines the Emirati heritage. And modern international sports.
The tournament was designed to be a comprehensive family sporting event suitable for all age groups, with individual and group competitions suitable for professionals and amateurs, in a festive atmosphere that enhances the values of fair competition and sportsmanship, while providing a safe and comfortable environment befitting the holy month.
In addition to competitions, the festival offers daily draws for valuable prizes throughout 18 days, which adds more excitement and makes every day a new opportunity to win and celebrate.
In a specific initiative to support digital media, the festival announced the allocation of 100,000 dirhams for the award for the best digital media coverage of the tournament, with the aim of encouraging content makers and media professionals to document the event and convey its atmosphere to the widest audience via digital platforms and social media.
