Abu Dhabi Police uses artificial intelligence and virtual reality to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and cybercrime

The Abu Dhabi Police Anti-Narcotics Directorate revealed a package of innovative digital awareness initiatives during its participation in the Military Police Anti-Drugs and Cybercrime Exhibition in its fourth edition.

This participation aims to raise the level of awareness among visitors and national service recruits about the dangers of narcotic drugs and electronic crimes using modern technical methods that mimic the language of the times.

Head of the Drug Prevention Section of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, Major Hassan Al Hammadi, said that participation comes for the fourth year in a row, stressing the Directorate’s strategy to reach the largest possible segment of young people through the use of smart and interactive technological tools.

He added, Abu Dhabi Police displayed several advanced technical solutions in its pavilion, including (AI Motion Video) technology to provide advanced visual awareness content that attracts the interest of youth groups, and virtual reality (VR), which is an advanced device that simulates the environment of the person using drugs, allowing the user to learn about the negative behavioral and environmental influences of drug abuse in a realistic and tangible way.

He pointed out that the pavilion also offers smart interactive games, which are an educational and entertaining means that aims to deliver awareness messages in a smooth and innovative way, and a digital prevention platform that contains videos, brochures, and comprehensive awareness pictures about the dangers of narcotic poisons and ways to prevent them.

In addition to raising awareness of the dangers of drugs, Major Hassan Al-Hammad said that the wing focuses extensively on the issue of electronic crimes, as awareness messages were sent to national service recruits and the public about ways to protect against digital threats, and how to deal safely with modern technology.

Major Al Hammadi stressed that the primary goal of being present at such events is to enhance direct communication with the public, answer their inquiries, and spread the security culture in a “smooth and effective” manner that ensures the protection of all segments of society.
