Mohamed Salah and Haaland are among the largest taxpayers in Britain

Today, Saturday, the British newspaper “The Sunday Times” revealed the annual tax list in the United Kingdom, which included JK Rowling, Mohamed Salah, Erling Haaland, and Harry Styles among the 100 largest taxpayers in the United Kingdom.
The list stated that the 100 largest taxpayers provided a total of 5,758 billion pounds sterling during the year 2025, compared to 4,985 billion pounds sterling in 2024.
According to the British News Agency (BA Media), for the first time, the billionaire brothers Fred and Peter Dunn, founders of the betting giant, Betfred, topped the list, surpassing major musicians, businessmen and sports stars.
According to the list, Fred and Peter Dunne, who founded the Warrington-based company in 1967, contributed around £400.1 million in tax over the past year.
This came after their tax bill rose by nearly half from £273.4 million the previous year.
Robert Watts, who compiled the list, said: “This is an increasingly diverse list, with Premier League footballers and world-famous pop stars lined up alongside gentry and business owners who sell pies, pillows and baby formula.”
Financial trading tycoon Alex Jericho was second on the list with a tax of £4.331m, followed by hedge fund manager Chris Rokos, who paid £330m.
Two football players joined the list for the first time, as Erling Haaland from Manchester City appeared in 72nd place, and he paid about 16.9 million pounds sterling, and it is believed that the bill for Liverpool player Mohamed Salah is 14.5 million pounds sterling.
Other well-known figures on the list included Harry Potter author JK Rowling, at 36th with a tax bill of £47.5m, and musician Ed Sheeran at 64th with a tax bill of £19.9m.
