Dubai hosts the first international conference on hernia, reconstruction and abdominal wall reconstruction

The first international conference on hernia, repair and reconstruction of the abdominal wall opened today in Dubai, with the participation of a group of international experts and surgeons, and discusses the latest medical and surgical developments in abdominal wall surgeries.

The conference, which was organized in cooperation with the American Hospital Dubai and continues at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in the Dubai International Financial Center, aims to shed light on the medical and clinical dimensions of hernias and abdominal wall disorders, including separation of the rectus muscle, some of which are often misunderstood and classified within the cosmetic framework, despite their direct impact on motor functions and the quality of life of patients.

The event constitutes a specialized scientific platform for exchanging experiences, discussing the latest clinical practices based on scientific evidence, and reviewing the techniques adopted in surgical restoration and functional reconstruction of the abdominal wall.

Dr. Hatem Mousa, Chairman of the Scientific Committee at the conference and Head of the Surgery Department at the American Hospital Dubai, said that the conference brings together an elite group of the most prominent surgeons in the world, and discusses a wide range of specialized topics in the field of hernia surgeries and the reconstruction and reconstruction of the abdominal wall, noting that the development in modern surgical techniques has contributed to raising the accuracy of operations and reducing the recovery period to only a few days after it used to extend for weeks.
