The World Health Organization announces that the number of cases of Hantavirus infection has risen to 13

The World Health Organization confirmed today that the number of cases of Hanta virus infection linked to a cruise ship that was the center of the outbreak of the disease has risen to 13 cases.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the organization, said in a post on the “X” platform that he informed Spain of the detection of a new case among passengers subject to quarantine, which brings the total number of cases to 13, explaining that three cases of those infected died as a result of being infected with the disease.
He pointed out that no new deaths have been recorded since May 2, adding that the situation remains stable, as passengers who contracted the disease receive the necessary care, while others remain in quarantine.
It is noteworthy that all passengers on board the ship MV Hondius, which was the epicenter of the outbreak, left the ship about two weeks ago.
