المملكة: "Hajj" The contracts of 1,800 external travel agencies were suspended due to poor performance


Declared Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Stopping existing contracts with 1,800 foreign travel agencies operating in the field of Umrah, out of about 5,800 foreign travel agencies, and giving them 10 days to correct their conditions, based on the results of the approved periodic evaluation, and the observed deficiencies in the level of performance and poor quality of services at those agencies.

The Ministry explained that the suspension is limited to issuing new visas only, and comes within a regulatory methodology aimed at empowering the agencies. From processing the classification comments and raising the level of compliance with the approved standards, provided that the contracts are reactivated after the expiry of the deadline and the completion of the necessary requirements.

No impact on pilgrims

The Ministry confirmed that Umrah pilgrimswho have valid visas or existing reservations will not be affected by this measure, as the services provided to them will continue without any change, adding that the application of the approved classification and performance indicators is a basic regulatory measure aimed at raising the level of commitment among service providers, and ensuring the provision of services consistent with the approved standards, while emphasizing that protecting the rights of pilgrims and the continuity of their service represents a priority in all regulatory measures taken.

For his part, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Ghassan Al-Nouaimi said that the Ministry will take all legal measures against any agency that does not commit to rectifying its situation after the expiry of the specified deadline, stressing that the Ministry will continue to apply monitoring and evaluation tools in a way that enhances the reliability of the Umrah system and preserves the rights of pilgrims.
