The Museum Authority signs a program to enhance cooperation in modern and contemporary art
Signed The Authority of Museums Today, an executive program with the National Center for Arts and Culture – Georges Pompidou in the French Republic-; With the aim of enhancing cultural cooperation and developing partnerships in the fields of modern and contemporary art.
The program was signed in The Diriyah Center for Future Arts in Riyadh, which is the first center in the Middle East and North Africa region specializing in the arts of New Media, in a step that embodies the depth of cultural relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and France, and the keenness of both sides to expand areas of artistic and knowledge exchange.
Enhancing cultural dialogue
The executive program comes within an institutional framework for cooperation between the Museum Authority and one of the most prominent international institutions in the field of modern and contemporary art, which contributes to developing the museum sector in the Kingdom, enhancing cultural dialogue, and exchanging experiences and knowledge at the local and international levels.
The cooperation includes three main areas: lending the Pompidou Center selections of modern and contemporary artworks to the Museum Authority, participating in organizing modern and contemporary art exhibitions, in addition to organizing cultural and public programs and events in the Authority’s facilities, in addition to exchanging experiences in the areas of research, editorial content, and publications.
Exchanging experiences
This cooperation confirms the Museum Authority’s commitment to building quality international partnerships that contribute to the exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge, and strengthening the growing cultural infrastructure in the country. The Kingdom, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
It is noteworthy that the signing of the executive program at the Diriyah Center for Future Arts confirms the center’s role as a platform for international dialogue and cooperation in contemporary art practices, and as the first institution in the region specializing in new media and digital arts, which embodies the vision of the Ministry of Culture aimed at consolidating the Kingdom’s position at the forefront of artistic innovation and cultural exchange globally.
