300 male and female nurses receive training in the field of enhancing school care in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 2nd February, 2018 (WAM) – More than 300 male and female nurses from schools in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra participated in an advanced training program organized by Seha Clinics, affiliated with the PureHealth Group, as part of its efforts to enhance the competencies of government school nurses for the academic year 2025-2026, through more than 37 hours of advanced medical education that combines in-person and virtual training.

The program aims to provide male and female nurses with the latest medical knowledge and clinical skills to ensure the provision of high-quality health services to students, focusing on their physical, psychological and emotional needs. This includes training all nursing officers within the “train the trainers” model and supervising school nurses during training.

The training topics included mental health and school safety, eating disorders, early speech and hearing problems, bullying, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and injury prevention, in addition to care for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, high blood pressure, kidney disease, and health care for children of special needs, including Down syndrome, autism, and cerebral palsy.

The program focused on promoting active learning strategies in health education, and developing basic school health skills, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxygen therapy, infection control, administering medications and vaccinations, and others.

The program was presented by experts from SEHA Clinics, SEHA, Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, and Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital, in addition to universities and academic institutions such as UAE University, University of Sharjah, New York University, and Fatima College of Health Sciences.
