المملكة: Jeddah Municipality: A ton of food was destroyed and 4 random sites were closed

Jeddah Governorate MunicipalityAbout a ton (1000 kilograms) of Food safety and the protection of public health.
The Director General of the General Administration for Monitoring and Treating Negative Phenomena, Yasser bin Siraj Bakhsh, explained that the field teams monitored four random sites that were being exploited for various illegal activities without regular permits, indicating that the campaign comes within the secretariat’s plans to reduce irregular practices that affect public health.
Health requirements
He stated that the first site is a yard containing Residential rooms used for storing and packing leafy vegetables and dates, in an environment that lacks health requirements with the spread of insects and rodents, which resulted in the destruction of large quantities of leafy vegetables estimated at about a ton, the confiscation of “47” cartons of dates, the confiscation of “5” electronic scales and “4” packaging machines, and the immediate closure of the site by the sub-municipality.
He pointed out that field teams seized yard in the second site containing a factory for preparing dairy products. “Al-Qashta” works in poor sanitary conditions, as all the tools used were confiscated, in addition to powdered milk weighing “40” kilograms per bag, with the site being closed immediately.
Without Permits
Bakhsh added that the campaign resulted in the seizure of a third irregular site used to store car parts and empty cartons without permits, as the cartons were confiscated by the Jeddah Company, and the site was closed by the Umm Al Salam Sub-municipality.
Also, Field teams monitored a fourth site, which is a large yard used for the activity of shipping food and clothing materials without completing the regular licenses, in addition to using part of it as an irregular car repair activity, as the site was completely closed by the Umm Al-Salam Sub-municipality to complete the regular procedures.
Illegal activities
He stressed that this campaign comes within the efforts of the Jeddah Governorate Municipality to follow up on violating activities and reduce irregular practices that affect public health, calling on citizens and residents to report.
