Emirates Scientific Club qualifies for the championship "Fix" Global Robotics

Dubai, February 2, 2017 – The Emirates Science Club has qualified for the VIX World Educational Robotics Championship, hosted by the United States of America from April 21 to 30, after a remarkable competitive performance in the National Robotics Championship, adding a new achievement to the country’s record in the fields of robotics and artificial intelligence.

The qualification came as a result of the outstanding results achieved by the club’s students during the national championship organized by the Quarter Qarn Foundation for Science and Technology, after the team won 5 awards, including first place in individual skills and 3 excellence awards, in addition to a special award for the intermediate and advanced categories, which reflects the level of technical and skill preparedness of the students.

The results of the tournament resulted in three teams of male and female students qualifying to represent the club in international competitions after achieving advanced positions and receiving excellence awards, a clear indication of the competence of the young national cadres.

Bilal Al-Badour, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Culture and Science Symposium, praised the achievement, stressing that what the students achieved embodies the national vision that supports science and technology and reflects sustainable investment in young minds to prepare a generation capable of innovation and contribution to the knowledge economy.

For his part, Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, President of the Emirates Science Club, stressed that international participation gives students advanced practical experiences and opens up horizons for them to interact with global experiences, thus enhancing the UAE’s position in the fields of science and technology and consolidating its presence in international scientific competitions.
