The 7th edition of the UAE National Mixed Martial Arts Championship begins on February 7

Abu Dhabi, February 3, 2017 – The UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation announced that the seventh edition of the UAE National Mixed Martial Arts Championship will be held on February 7 and 8 at the Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai, with wide participation of male and female players from various clubs and academies.
The Federation confirmed in a statement today that the competitions will include multiple age categories, from juniors to adults, starting with the Junior D category (10-11 years), Junior C (12-13 years), Junior B (14-15 years), and Youth A (16-17 years), all the way to the Adult category (18 years and above).
His Excellency Mohammed bin Dalmuj Al Dhaheri, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, said that the seventh edition of the tournament reflects the extent of the spread that this sport has achieved in the country, and the increasing interest of clubs and academies in developing their players according to well-thought-out preparation programmes, stressing that the federation continues the development process, and provides the greatest amount of competition and training opportunities for players, based on a strategic vision aimed at building strong teams capable of raising the country’s name in various international forums.
He added that the Year of the Family represents an important opportunity to embody the role of the Emirati family in supporting its sons and daughters from the stands, as the competition hall turns into a platform where sports passion combines with the values of family belonging and encouragement.
