Vice President of Saint Martin: The UAE is an inspiring global model

Dubai, February 4, 2026 – Alain Richardson, First Vice President of the Saint-Martin Region of the French Republic, expressed his thanks to the UAE for hosting the World Government Summit 2026, stressing that this summit represents an important international platform to support cooperation between governments, especially small countries and regions.
Richardson told the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during the World Government Summit 2026 in Dubai, that his participation in the summit reflects the importance of the leadership role that the UAE has played over the past years, noting that it has become a role model for many countries of the Global South, whether in the field of education or in adopting modern technologies and anticipating sectors of the future.
He added that the UAE’s experience in innovation and technology constitutes a source of inspiration for many countries, stressing that the international cooperation led by the UAE opens new horizons for multilateral partnerships and provides effective paths for cooperation compared to the prevailing traditional models.
He pointed out that the UAE’s pioneering role gives a stronger voice to small countries and regions and enables them to benefit from opportunities for technical and financial support, which contributes to enhancing their development capabilities and building a more sustainable future.
Richardson explained that the sectors that the UAE is focusing on, especially education and technology, are considered sectors of the future… expressing his hope that the youth group, especially in regions with a young demographic structure, will benefit from the advanced universities and educational institutions in the country.
He indicated his aspiration to enhance cooperation with the UAE in various fields, including tourism, transportation, exchanging experiences, and exploring partnership and investment opportunities in the Caribbean region, noting the importance of continuing this cooperation in the next stage.
Richardson stressed his aspiration to participate in the upcoming sessions of the World Government Summit and to continue joint work to strengthen international partnerships to serve comprehensive and sustainable development.
