Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed receives the Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization "UNESCO"


ABU DHABI, 4th February, 2018 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, received Dr. Khaled Al Anani, Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), who is visiting the country to participate in the work of the World Summit of Governments being held in Dubai.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, wishing him success in his new duties as Director-General of the organization, which will contribute to strengthening its role in supporting cultural dialogue between peoples and protecting the human and cultural heritage around the world.
During the meeting, they discussed continuing to strengthen cooperation and partnership between UNESCO, the United Arab Emirates and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through joint cultural, cognitive and scientific programs and initiatives, in support of efforts to preserve the cultural and civilizational heritage and consolidate the values of national identity among present and future generations.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Head of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture; His Excellency Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi; His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Head of the Office of the Crown Prince in the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
