The Head of State and Prime Minister of Armenia discuss relations between the two countries

Today, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, discussed cooperation relations in various fields, especially economic, investment and development, and opportunities to enhance them in a way that serves their mutual interests and achieves progress and prosperity for their peoples.

At the beginning of the meeting – which took place at Al-Shati Palace – His Highness congratulated the Armenian Prime Minister on the occasion of honoring the historic “peace agreement” between Azerbaijan and Armenia with the Zayed Prize for Human Fraternity. His Highness appreciated the wisdom of the two countries in giving priority to dialogue and reaching an agreement that contributes to consolidating the foundations of security and stability in the two countries and the Caucasus region in general, and opens new horizons of joint cooperation in a way that meets the aspirations of their peoples towards development and prosperity, expressing his wishes. May Armenia continue to progress.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the continuous development witnessed by the Emirati-Armenian relations in various development priority sectors, especially cooperation in the field of renewable energy, agriculture, food security, technology, digital transformation and other fields that serve mutual development… stressing their common keenness to continue working to invest all available opportunities in a way that achieves their mutual interests and brings goodness and development to their peoples.

The two sides also discussed a number of issues and topics of common interest and exchanged views on them. In this context, His Highness stressed the UAE’s keenness to support the stability and security of the Caucasus region and achieve development for its peoples, based on its established approach to promoting stability and prosperity for all peoples.

For his part, His Excellency Nikol Pashinyan appreciated the initiatives and efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, which embody the UAE’s approach and its established values ​​in supporting peace and stability efforts in the world.

The meeting was attended by: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, and a number of ministers and senior state officials.

His Highness the President and Prime Minister of Armenia also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement in the field of trade in services and investment between the governments of the UAE and Armenia, signed by His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, and His Excellency Gevorg Babuyan, Minister of Economy of Armenia… in addition to the announcement of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of exchanging government expertise between the two countries.
