Preparations for launch continue "Sharjah Theater Days"
Sharjah, February 5 / WAM / Preparations continue for the thirty-fifth session of “Sharjah Theater Days”, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and organized by the Sharjah Department of Culture.
In this context, the Supreme Committee of “Sharjah Theatrical Days” held its third meeting, this morning, at the Palace of Culture in Sharjah, headed by Ahmed Bourahima, Director of “Al-Ayyam,” and in the presence of committee members.
The meeting reviewed the files of 12 theater groups that applied to participate in the next session, and the readiness of the submitted performances was determined, and the teams’ commitment to fulfilling the artistic and technical requirements within the specified dates was praised, in addition to approving a number of procedural amendments to the regulations organizing the festival.
The committee for selecting and classifying the theatrical performances participating in the thirty-fifth session is scheduled to begin its work on February 27, and will submit its final report on March 7.
“Sharjah Theater Days” is considered one of the most prestigious theatrical events in the region, as it is held annually at the beginning of the year, and contributes to developing the theatrical movement by presenting various theatrical performances, organizing specialized intellectual seminars, in addition to honoring pioneers of Emirati and Arab theatre, and supporting theatrical talent through programs that include training workshops, competitions, and specialized publications.
