Meloni’s face was erased from the mural

A picture of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was erased from the face of a fresco in a church in central Rome, by order of the chief archdiocesan official, following a political and religious uproar.
A restoration process had placed a drawing on one side of a mural depicting “two angels” in the Church of St. Lawrence in Lucina, near the government headquarters, almost identical to the face of right-wing politician Meloni (49 years old), the first female prime minister of Italy. The center-left newspaper La Repubblica monitored the photo last Saturday, which sparked the anger of opposition figures and the dissatisfaction of Cardinal Baldo Reina, the Vatican’s vicar general for the Archdiocese of Rome.
