Schools stress prohibiting the entry of sweets, soft drinks, and unhealthy foods into the school campus

Government school administrations have stressed preventing the entry of sweets, soft drinks, and unhealthy foods into school campuses, after they spread among students inside schools, which negatively affects their behavior and academic achievement and contributes to hyperactivity and distraction.
School administrations called on parents to enhance joint cooperation for the benefit of the children, within the framework of their concern for the health of students and to promote a safe educational environment that stimulates concentration and learning.
The administrations confirmed through school letters addressed to parents, seen by Emirates Today, that a number of these products, especially sweets with artificial colors, and types of potatoes containing dyes and colorings, in addition to soft and colored drinks, constitute a source of health and educational concern, especially with the presence of warnings written on their packaging indicating their possible impact on children’s activity and their ability to concentrate in the classroom.
She stressed that improper nutrition is one of the factors that directly affects students’ daily behavior, as it may contribute to hyperactivity, distraction, and poor concentration, which negatively affects the progress of the educational process and hinders students’ ability to learn and comprehend optimally.
She pointed out that paying attention to simple details, such as the quality of daily meals, can contribute to reducing some negative behaviors and supporting students’ psychological and educational stability.
Schools sent a serious appeal to parents, urging them to inspect their children’s bags on a daily basis, and choose healthy and balanced meals that enhance their activity and concentration, while emphasizing the necessity of preventing sending sweets, soft drinks, and colorful foods to school, in addition to educating children not to buy or sell these products among their colleagues on the school campus.
The administrations stressed that children are a trust in the hands of everyone, and that the school does not accept for them anything other than what it accepts for its children, stressing that parents’ support and cooperation represent a fundamental pillar in building a healthy and safe school environment that contributes to developing students’ abilities and enhancing their chances of academic success, in a way that serves their future and achieves their best interests.
