Opening the dialysis department at the Emirati Floating Hospital to support the people of Gaza

Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the Arab Republic of Egypt, opened the dialysis department at the Emirati Floating Hospital in the port of Al Arish, as part of the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian and medical efforts to support displaced patients from the Gaza Strip, and alleviate the suffering of kidney failure patients in light of the difficult humanitarian conditions.
The new department includes two dialysis machines, allowing six dialysis sessions to be provided daily, with each session taking about four hours according to approved medical procedures, which contributes to ensuring continuity of care for patients whose condition requires regular treatment sessions.
The opening of the department comes in response to the increasing number of cases of Palestinian patients with kidney disease, and the growing need for dialysis sessions, which necessitated the allocation of an integrated unit within the floating hospital to provide this type of basic therapeutic services, and reduce the burden on patients and their companions.
This step aims to provide dialysis service near the residential complexes where patients reside in the city of Al-Arish, thus alleviating the hardship of their transportation and ensuring continuity of their access to treatment, within the system of medical services provided by the Emirati Floating Hospital to support the health sector and enhance the humanitarian response in light of difficult circumstances.
The Emirati Floating Hospital in Al-Arish continues to perform its role within the humanitarian and medical support system, by providing specialized health services that contribute to saving lives and improving the quality of care for the most needy groups, especially patients with chronic conditions.
