“Impossible.” Taiwan refuses to transfer its semiconductor factories to America

Taiwan announced its rejection of a US proposal to move 40% of the Semiconductors on the island to the United States, describing Washington’s request as "impossible".
Deputy Prime Minister and chief tariff negotiator, Cheng Liqun, said she had made clear to Washington that the country’s semiconductor industry organization, which was built over decades, could not simply be moved.
She added that Taipei’s international expansion, including its investments in Electronic chips in Taiwan were transferred to the United States during the current term of President Donald Trump.
