Masters Games Ambassador: The event is a global platform that contributes to the preservation of traditional sports

ABU DHABI, 10th February, 2020 (WAM) – Saeed Al Shamsi, the largest Emiratis ambassador for the Masters Games – Abu Dhabi 2026, confirmed that the global event’s interest in devoting competitions to traditional sports makes it a global platform for preserving this type of sport and consolidating its status among all members of society.
The Masters Games competitions will continue until February 15, with the participation of more than 25,000 athletes from various countries of the world.
Al Shamsi said in his statements today that his selection as an ambassador for the global event represents the culmination of a long journey of participation in many traditional and community sports, noting his keenness to introduce participants coming from abroad to traditional games, such as falconry, falconry, traditional diving, sailing, endurance races, and camel races.
He explained that the preservation of these sports came thanks to the support of the wise leadership, through organizing camel races and falconry care, in addition to promoting the concepts of environmental protection, which contributes to the sustainability of this cultural and sporting heritage for future generations.
Despite being over sixty years old, Al Shamsi continues to practice a large number of sports daily, including archery, horse and camel riding, and desert bikes, stressing that the diversity of activities has had a positive impact on his health and daily life.
