The UAE and Iran hold political consultations in Tehran

The second round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in the capital, Tehran.
The meeting was chaired by Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, in the presence of the UAE Ambassador to Iran Khaled Belhoul, and the Iranian Ambassador to the UAE Reza Ameri, along with a number of senior officials from both sides.
The two sides welcomed the consultations, which are an opportunity to discuss a wide range of files of common interest. During the meeting, bilateral relations and ways to enhance common interests to serve the two countries and the two peoples were also discussed.
The two sides also reviewed a number of files related to foreign policy, including the latest developments in the region and their effects on peace and security, and the efforts made to address them.
The consultations concluded with an agreement to continue coordination on a regular basis, and to activate joint technical committees, in a way that contributes to accelerating the implementation of existing agreements and exploring new horizons for cooperation.
During her visit to Tehran, Lana Nusseibeh met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and conveyed to him the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and also discussed with him a number of issues related to regional peace and security.
