10 people were killed and 25 others injured in a shooting accident in Canada

Canadian authorities said Tuesday that a shooting incident at a school in British Columbia killed eight people, including the suspect, and two other people were found dead in a home believed to be related to the incident.

The Royal Canadian Police said that more than 25 people were injured, including two in critical condition, after the shooting incident that occurred at Tumbler Ridge High School in the town of Tumbler Ridge. School shootings are rare in Canada.

The town of Tumbler Ridge, with a population of about 2,400, is located more than 1,000 kilometers north of Vancouver, near the border with Alberta.

District of Columbia Premier David Eby told reporters that police arrived at the school within two minutes.

The local police announced in a statement that they found seven dead, including a suspect who appeared to have died from a self-inflicted injury. An eighth person died while he was being transported to a hospital, and the bodies of two other people were found in a house, which the authorities believe is related to the attack.
