37 countries participate in "UAE Show Jumping Cup" and"Dori Longines" For Nations in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, February 11 / WAM / The Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation announced that the second edition of the Five-Star Emirates Show Jumping Cup will be held from February 11 to 15, coinciding with the first round of qualifying for the third edition of the Longines Nations League 2026, with the participation of the top 10 teams in the world rankings, in addition to the UAE national team.
The two championships will be held on the sand field at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the sponsorship of Longines, and the supervision of the International Equestrian Federation, with the participation of 203 male and female riders with 313 horses from 37 countries.
The Longines Nations League competitions witness the participation of the UAE national team, in addition to 10 other international teams: America, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, France, Britain, the Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, and Brazil.
Abu Dhabi represents the first stop for 8 teams to qualify for the final in the Nations League rounds, from there to Ocala in the United States of America from March 17 to 22, then to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, from June 18 to 21, and to Saint-Tropez in France during the period from September 16 to 20, all the way to the final scheduled at the Royal Polo Club in Barcelona from October 1 to 4, 2026.
These details were announced in a press conference held today in the conference hall attached to the Dusit Thani Hotel in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Sultan Al Yahyai, Member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, Chairman of the Show Jumping Committee, Saeed Al Muhairi, Director of the Community Sports Department at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Onya Power, Executive Director of Sports and Games at the International Equestrian Federation, Abdullah Al Naqbi, Director of the Support Services Department at the Equestrian Federation, and Anthony Lowry, Director of Equestrianism at the Abu Dhabi Club. The organizing committee announced the launch of veterinary examination procedures for the five-star horses coming from Europe, the Gulf, and within the Emirates today, leading to the first half of the two-star category, the warm-up half for the horses participating in the five-star category, and holding a special meeting for the trainers participating in the Longines League, to review the regulations, timing, and laws.
She revealed that tomorrow, Thursday, the tournament will witness two rounds in the two-star category at nine in the morning, then the first half in the five-star category at three-thirty in the afternoon, and the qualifying round for the Emirates Cup Grand Prix at seven in the evening.
She noted the continuation of the activities on Friday, with the two-star round being held at nine-thirty in the morning, then the five-star round at two-thirty in the afternoon, then the teams entering the field at six in the evening, marking the opening of the Nations League, then the Nations Cup half, the first round, will be held at six-thirty in the evening, then the second round’s half at nine in the evening.
It was also mentioned that the activities scheduled for Saturday include holding the children’s and junior rounds, and the last two rounds in the two-star tournament, then concluding on Sunday with the children’s and junior rounds in the morning, in addition to the two rounds of the five-star category, and the Grand Prix round of the Emirates Cup.
Sultan Al Yahyai stressed that the UAE Championships and the Longines Nations League are an important stage in global equestrian sports, confirming the UAE’s position as a leading sports destination for hosting international sporting events, and the cooperation extended with the International Federation in all sports tournaments.
He pointed out the importance of events in improving the competitive capabilities of UAE riders in the tournament, and the great value of interacting with elite riders from various countries of the world, which consolidates the indicators of development witnessed by equestrian sports.
Saeed Al Muhairi said that the Emirates International Cup and the Longines Nations League are a prominent sporting event that confirms the leadership of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in organizing and hosting major international sporting events, and its ability to attract elite riders from various countries of the world, in accordance with the highest organizational and technical standards.
He noted the keenness of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to contribute to organizing the two tournaments, and to work in a spirit of partnership and integration with all concerned parties and strategic partners, in order to present an exceptional version that reflects the status of the event, whether in terms of the high level of international participation, or the value of the distinguished prizes that contribute to raising the level of competition, and motivate the knights to give their best.
In turn, Onya Power expressed her satisfaction with the level of equipment for holding the two tournaments at the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, with its integrated structure, hoping that the competitions will be enjoyable for participants from all over the world.
Anthony Lowry expressed the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club’s welcome to host the events with the best equipment, and to provide all the requirements for their success and excellence, on the sand field, which is the first hybrid “indoor and outdoor” field in the world.
