Ajman Municipality is implementing several projects to increase the green area in the emirate

Ajman, March 30 / WAM / The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department announced the implementation of a number of agriculture projects, landscaping recreational facilities, and enhancing green spaces in the emirate, in a way that contributes to achieving community comfort and happiness and raising the quality of life, in line with the directions of Ajman Vision 2030.

Dr. Engineer Khaled Moeen Al Hosani, Executive Director of the Department’s Public Health and Environment Sector, confirmed that the projects come within integrated and comprehensive plans covering all regions of the emirate.

He explained that the department is currently implementing a side beautification project on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Street with a length of 18 kilometers and a cost of 9 million dirhams, in addition to constructing a double walkway for bicycles and scooters with a length of approximately 12 kilometers, in addition to a rubber walkway with a length of one kilometer. The completion rate in the project has reached 60%.

Al Hosani pointed to the waterfront irrigation and beautification project, which includes irrigation and cultivation works for the new 3-kilometre-long waterfront, with the aim of beautifying the area surrounding the running walkway, bicycle path, and play and rest areas, using plants that are compatible with the marine environment. The project is expected to be completed by the end of next September.

The department intends to begin implementing the community garden project in the Montazi area on an area of ​​30,000 square metres. The garden will house the first model of a green glass dome containing systems to simulate glacial, tropical and desert environments, at a cost of approximately $5 million, while the cost of the garden is about 11 million dirhams, and the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Ahmed Saif Al Muhairi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Public Parks at the Department, explained that the project to establish 12 residential parks in different areas of the city is currently being completed at a total cost of 10 million dirhams, and the completion rate has reached 65%, with the project being completed by the end of 2028.

The department is also working on implementing a project to rehabilitate recreational facilities in accordance with international standards for people of determination, to ensure the provision of a comprehensive and accessible recreational environment for all segments of society.
