The National Afforestation Program signed a package of specific cooperation memorandums that included 8 agreements with an elite group of leading associations and companies in the real estate field, with the aim of planting more than 8 million trees in various regions of the Kingdom.
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the program’s active participation in the “Restatex Riyadh 2026” exhibition, where the program was represented in the signing by Executive Vice President Engineer Ahmed Al-Anazi, in the presence of a qualitative presence. Supporting afforestation projects
These partnerships aim to enhance integrative work to raise community and environmental awareness of the importance of vegetation, and focus on afforestation within the urban area to enhance the quality of life in cities and residential neighbourhoods.
The parties agreed to maximize the use of gray and treated water in irrigating trees and local plants appropriate to the environment of each region, ensuring the sustainability of water resources and non-depletion of water. The agreements include providing appropriate seedlings and ensuring their care, in addition to exchanging technical expertise and building capabilities, and providing specialized field consultations to support afforestation projects and ensure their long-term success.
The program reviewed during the exhibition its most prominent initiatives for planting gardens, squares, forests and parks, stressing that these efforts directly contribute to rehabilitating degraded lands and protecting fragile ecosystems.
The program explained that this alliance with the real estate sector represents an important tributary to support efforts. National efforts to combat desertification and achieve the ambitious goals of the “Saudi Green Initiative” to protect and sustain the environment.
