Dubai, February 13, 2017 – Dubai Press Club, the organizer of the Arab Media Summit, scheduled to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, during the period from March 31 to April 2, 2026 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, announced a strategic partnership with the United Arab Emirates University to be As an academic partner of the summit in its next session, in conjunction with the university’s celebrations of the golden jubilee of the fiftieth anniversary of its founding.
This partnership comes within the framework of the university’s commitment to supporting digital transformations in the media and enhancing its effective participation in the most prominent platforms concerned with discussing and anticipating the future of the sector, and within the club’s efforts to strengthen the partnership with all national and media institutions inside and outside the country in order to consolidate Dubai’s position as a regional and global destination for dialogue, media industries and future digital trends. This partnership also enhances the presence of the academic and knowledge dimension within the summit’s agenda, through the UAE University’s contribution with its research expertise and scientific participation, and by providing the opportunity for its students and academics to interact with the most prominent media leaders and decision-makers in the region and the world, which contributes to building sustainable bridges between higher education and the media sector. Especially since the summit annually enjoys the participation of a group of senior political and economic figures and an elite group of the most prominent and important media leaders, symbols of Arab and international media work, newspaper editors, writers, thinkers, content makers and influencers, in the Arab region and the world.
On this occasion, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, stressed that the university’s participation in the Arab Media Summit 2026 represents a natural extension of its national and cognitive role, and a reflection of its continued commitment to contributing to the development of Arab media and strengthening its position as an influential force in shaping societal awareness, and supporting cultural, intellectual and social development paths in the region.
His Excellency pointed out that the UAE has established an advanced model in organizing major intellectual and media events that bring together leaders, decision-makers and experts from various parts of the Arab world, stressing that these initiatives strengthen the country’s position as a leading regional center for dialogue and a global platform for anticipating the future of media and creating its content.
His Excellency added: “At the United Arab Emirates University, we believe that the relationship between education and media is a relationship of strategic integration. The mission of academic institutions is not limited to graduating students, but rather extends to preparing intellectual and professional leaders capable of dealing with the rapid transformations in the media landscape. Our participation in the Arab Media Summit represents an opportunity to highlight the university’s efforts in developing scientific research in the fields of digital media, applications of artificial intelligence in mass communication, and building the media capabilities of youth, in addition to highlighting the distinguished national models that the university has contributed to.” It was prepared, and today it has become an active part of the media scene at the local and regional levels.”

In turn, Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, congratulated the United Arab Emirates University on the occasion of the golden jubilee of its founding, praising its national journey extending over fifty years in preparing competencies, building minds, and consolidating the foundations of higher education in the country. She stressed that the partnership with the UAE University as an academic partner of the Arab Media Summit represents a qualitative addition that enhances the cognitive dimension of the summit.
Her Excellency said: “We congratulate the UAE University on its celebration of the Golden Jubilee, which is an important national milestone in which we recall a long academic legacy that contributed to graduating generations of competencies that today lead various vital sectors in the country.”
