Jordan.. A government proposal to work 4 days in exchange for 3 days off

The Jordanian newspaper “Al-Ghad” revealed a government proposal to reduce official working days to four days in exchange for giving employees a three-day weekly holiday. This comes out of administrative modernization and keeping pace with global experiences.

According to the newspaper, the Jordanian government aims with this proposal to rationalize operating expenses and alleviate stifling traffic congestion in the capital, Amman.

The proposal faces a wave of questions about its compatibility with the private sector, and the ability of digital infrastructure to compensate for the absence of employees on the third day.
