Theban Al Muhairi wins gold "Hand bikes" in "Masters games"
ABU DHABI, 13 February, 2017 (WAM) – Theban Al Muhairi, Secretary General of the UAE Paralympic Committee, won the gold medal in the 15 km individual time trial hand bike race, “Hand Bike H3”, for the age group over 55 years, within the Masters Games, “Abu Dhabi 2026”.
Al Muhairi said in a statement that the race and other various events within the Masters Games achieved their goals in encouraging community members to practice sports for all age groups, in line with the Games’ message of establishing a culture of sustainable physical activity and enhancing the quality of life, with the support of wise leadership.
He stressed that People of Determination achieved the required interaction with the participation of various groups in a wide variety of sports, in line with national trends in promoting healthy and active lifestyles, praising at the same time the distinguished organization of various events in all centers, especially as it is the first ever participation of Paralympic sports in the Masters Games.
