Tariq Al Qasimi: "Masters games" Consolidating Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for community sports

ABU DHABI, 14th February, 2018 (WAM) – Sheikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qasimi confirmed that the Abu Dhabi 2026 Masters Games represent an advanced model for sporting events with a strategic dimension, as they contribute to expanding the base of sporting practice and enhancing the participation of various age groups, which reflects the UAE’s commitment to the “Sports for All” approach.
This came during his attendance today at the Abu Dhabi 2026 Masters Games, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), where he was briefed on the progress of competitions in a number of sports, and met with officials, athletes and organizers.
Sheikh Tariq bin Faisal Al Qasimi, one of the most prominent champions of jiu-jitsu, pointed out that attracting participants aged 30 years and above, from amateurs to experienced athletes, reflects an integrated vision based on consolidating the concept of sport as a sustainable lifestyle.
He said: The games embody the power of sports in building bridges of communication between peoples, and promoting the values of inclusivity and equality, especially by involving people of determination in various competitions.
He added: The organizational success of the Games reflects the competence of national cadres and their ability to host global events with high professional standards, which enhances international confidence in Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading sports center.
