Wide participation in the celebration "Abu Dhabi Equestrian Arts School" Chinese New Year
ABU DHABI, 14th February, 2017 (WAM) – The cultural celebration organized by the Abu Dhabi School of Equestrian Arts to celebrate the Chinese New Year, “Year of the Horse,” in the Chinese calendar, in cooperation with the UAE Embassy in the People’s Republic of China, witnessed broad community participation in a scene that embodied the depth of historical relations and strategic partnership between the two friendly countries.
Today’s celebration witnessed a remarkable presence from members of the Chinese community, officials, and those interested in arts and heritage, in addition to a wide audience of citizens and residents, which confirmed the importance of joint cultural events in strengthening bridges of human rapprochement and consolidating the values of openness and diversity that characterize the UAE.
The celebration program was based on a common cultural symbol that brings together the two countries, which is the “horse,” as it is a symbol of strength, nobility, and communication between peoples. For centuries, the horse has been a means of travel, commercial and cultural exchange, and has contributed to the transfer of knowledge between civilizations, so that today it has become an artistic platform that expresses the meeting of the past with the present and anticipating the future.
The activities included workshops, heritage experiences, and live performances that showcased the symbolism of horses in the two cultures, in addition to highlighting ways to develop their care in light of modern innovations.
This celebration was an extension of a long path of cultural cooperation between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China, as the country is keen annually for the Chinese community to participate in the Chinese New Year celebrations, which represent a prominent occasion and an opportunity to introduce the local community to an ancient culture that extends back thousands of years.
It also embodies the UAE’s firm commitment to the values of tolerance, coexistence, and the approach of cultural pluralism, as well as the strength of UAE-Chinese relations and their strategic depth at various levels.
