Board of Trustees "Hungarian" Its first meeting will be held in 2026

Dubai, February 15 / WAM / The Board of Trustees of Majra – the National Fund for Social Responsibility – held its first meeting for the year 2026, chaired by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Sarah Shaw, Executive Director of the Fund, reviewed the 2025 report, which witnessed a qualitative shift in the Fund’s initiatives, which included the participation of subcommittees in each emirate, which are headed by chambers of commerce and industry.

It also highlighted the initial results of the Sustainable Impact Challenge, which was launched in January 2026, and applications for the challenge continue until March 23.

The importance of the role of the private sector in providing data on its contribution to priority areas for the state such as education, health, environment, culture, sports and technology was also discussed, as the Fund’s platform concerned with reconciling data on private sector contributions in the country was discussed.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq stressed the importance of the Fund’s participation in the “Year of the Family” by working to develop specific and distinguished initiatives, especially since the family is the pillar of a prosperous society. His Excellency pointed out the vital role of the private sector in supporting these types of initiatives, which contributes to enhancing social cohesion, empowering the family and youth, and transforming giving into a sustainable impact that serves the nation and future generations.

The Fund works in cooperation with various federal agencies to build a system of national projects in which private companies in the country contribute. Three innovative projects were announced during the 2025 Community Impact Summit in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Community Protection and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.

For her part, Sarah Shaw confirmed that “Majra” continues to strengthen its role as a national umbrella for creating sustainable impact, by developing an integrated system concerned with organizing and directing social responsibility contributions, and building effective partnerships between the government and private sectors, in addition to adopting innovative models in designing and implementing community initiatives.
