"Emirates Cycling" He scores a double win and extends his early lead in the 2026 season

Lisbon, February 16 / WAM / The Emirates –
Morgado once again proved his superiority in the city of Figueira da Foz, after withstanding a strong challenge from Alex Aranburu of the Cofidis team in the final metres, becoming the first cyclist to successfully defend his title during the four editions of the race.
The one-day race, which was held yesterday, extended for a distance of 177.8 kilometers, and was included in the UCI ProSeries, as it took place under difficult coastal winds.
A separate group set off early, and with about 6km remaining a select group including Morgado, Arneborough and Brandon McNulty formed after strong attacks on the undulating tracks.
In the final kilometers, Morgado dealt with tactical intelligence, staying close to Arranboro’s first start before launching his powerful dash and clinching the victory, recording his second successive victory in this event, and his second victory in the 2026 season after his previous victory in the “Trofeo Calvia”.
This victory represents the second victory for the Emirates XRG team on the same day, after Marc Soler won the overall title in the Vuelta a Murcia.
The second stage of the race was stopped due to strong winds that were considered unsafe, which neutralized the competition.
