المملكة: Urgent intervention saves a thirty-year-old man after his heart stopped 6 minutes from Al-Qunfudhah General Hospital

Rapid intervention within the Saudi health care model contributed to saving the life of a 38-year-old citizen with Down Syndrome, after he suffered a sudden and complete cardiac arrest, as the emergency and intensive care team succeeded in And the cardiologist included intensive follow-up of vital signs and heart and breathing functions, until the patient’s condition began to gradually improve and respond to treatment.
The medical team indicated that as the condition stabilized, a program of gradual weaning from the ventilator was initiated until it was successfully disconnected after the patient regained consciousness and his ability to breathe normally, then he was transferred to the inpatient department to complete therapeutic and rehabilitative care.
He indicated that the patient was transferred to a specialized hospital for catheterization. He left in stable health condition – praise be to God – with good recovery indicators.
This intervention is an example of the integration of the response system for critical cases, starting with the speed of emergency response, passing through intensive care, and ending with the continuity of specialized treatment, which reflects the competence of health personnel and the readiness of facilities to provide high-quality care that contributes to saving lives and improving patient outcomes, in line with the goals of health transformation and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
