A second American combat plane crashed near the Strait of Hormuz

The New York Times reported that a second US Air Force combat plane crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, noting that the only pilot was safely rescued.
The newspaper quoted two American officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss operational matters, as saying that the plane was an A-10 Warthog, and that it crashed near the Strait of Hormuz at approximately the same time that a US Air Force F-15E was shot down over Iran.
Officials did not provide many details about the A-10 crash, including how and where it occurred.
