The latest study on Corona vaccines… Do they pose a risk to children during pregnancy?

The study was presented during the 2026 annual meeting of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and included 434 children between the ages of 18 and 30 months, whose neurological and behavioral development was carefully evaluated.
During the study, the researchers divided the children into two equal groups, the first included 217 children born to mothers who received at least one dose of the mRNA vaccine during pregnancy or 30 days before pregnancy, and the second included 217 children born to mothers who did not receive the vaccine during that period.
To ensure the accuracy of the results, the mothers in the two groups were matched in terms of place of birth, date of birth, type of health insurance, and ethnic background. Cases that included very premature birth, twins, or major birth defects were also excluded.
When the children reached the age of one and a half to two and a half years, they underwent assessment tests that included communication skills, gross and fine motor skills, problem-solving ability, social interaction, and behavioral patterns. The team used internationally approved tools to monitor indicators of autism spectrum disorder and developmental delay.
The results showed that the children’s neurological and behavioral development did not differ between the two groups. In other words, there was no increase in rates of autism or developmental delays in children whose mothers received the vaccine compared to those who did not.
The researchers confirmed that the study was conducted within a network of clinical trials funded by the National Institutes of Health in the United States, and followed strict scientific standards. (Arabic)
