“Saudi German Health” and “Mayo Clinic” at the World Health Expo 2026

Within the framework of the activities of the World Health Exhibition 2026 WHX, which is one of the most prominent healthcare exhibitions in the world, the Saudi German Health Group and Mayo Clinic held a high-level leadership session to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between global medical expertise and regional healthcare delivery models, thus contributing to the development of health systems and improving patient outcomes in the region.

The session reflected the accelerating shift in the health care sector towards more interconnected and cooperative models, as institutions go beyond traditional boundaries to exchange knowledge and apply international best practices within regional care environments. Discussions focused on the role of this cooperation in supporting more consistent clinical decision-making, enhancing standards of care, and raising the efficiency and flexibility of health systems in light of an increasingly complex health environment.

The session, entitled “A Shared Vision for the Next Phase of Healthcare,” brought together a group of senior executives from both sides to explore how cross-border collaboration can contribute to addressing complex clinical and operational challenges, while keeping patient safety and quality at the top of care delivery priorities.

A bridge between global experience and regional impact
Dr. Ahmed Issa, CEO of the Saudi German Health Group in the UAE, stressed that the future of health care is based on strategic cooperation and integration of visions, saying: “The future of health care depends on real and effective cooperation.

By linking our regional network with global medical expertise, we ensure that clinical decisions across our system are based on international best practices, while remaining responsive to the needs of our patients in the region.”

The session also stressed the importance of aligning regional visions with global standards to support the responsible adoption of innovation. Dr. Muhammad Hablas, Regional Director – North Africa at the Saudi German Health Group, pointed out that this integration contributes to reducing the gap between scientific research and clinical application, explaining: When regional expertise is integrated with global knowledge, innovation can be translated into tangible patient care with greater efficiency and greater accuracy.

Building a care system based on cooperation
From Mayo Clinic International, Biju Samkoti, Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that quality healthcare depends on enhancing a culture of knowledge sharing and institutional collaboration. He said: “Effective collaboration allows medical knowledge to be shared and applied consistently across various health systems, and working with leading institutions in the region enhances our joint ability to ensure quality and patient safety remain top priorities, regardless of geographic location.”

In turn, Sarah Stahl, Vice President of Global Operations and Empowerment at Mayo Clinic International, explained that the success of cooperation is based on operational confidence, integration of operations and continuous commitment to development, which enables institutions operating in different regions to coordinate effectively.

Towards a more interconnected, healthy future
This leadership session falls within the overall direction of the World Health Expo 2026 (WHX), which highlights the resilience of health systems and the importance of international cooperation in facing the challenges of the future. The discussions confirmed that sustainable progress in health care increasingly depends on the ability of institutions to work together across borders to serve patients better and more comprehensively.
