Launching the “Unified Medical Examination” service for residency and occupational health in Dubai

“Dubai Health” – as part of the “City Builders” initiatives, affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai to develop shared government services – announced the launch of the “Unified Medical Examination” service, which integrates the procedures for medical fitness examinations for residency and occupational health within one application and a unified path, in a qualitative step aimed at shortening the procedures and facilitating the customer’s journey, which contributes to reducing time and effort. This initiative is implemented in cooperation with a number of government agencies, which include the Dubai Health Authority and the General Directorate of Identity. Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Dubai Municipality, the Supreme Legislation Committee, and the Department of Finance, within the framework of the “City Builders” initiatives, which aim to design and implement joint government services that provide an exceptional experience for customers.

Application for the new service, for various groups working in professional sectors, is done through a unified procedure that combines the medical fitness and occupational health examination in one application automatically and automatically, based on the data of the profession being applied for, which allows all examinations to be completed in just one visit, followed by the issuance of residency automatically after the results of the medical examinations are issued.

This step contributes to improving government services and linking the databases of the concerned authorities, ensuring faster and more accurate procedures.

Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Alawi Al Sheikh Ali, said that the launch of the “unified medical examination” service reflects Dubai’s approach to developing joint government work, through a unified digital path that enhances the efficiency of completing medical fitness examinations for residency and occupational health.

He stressed the importance of this initiative and its effective role in automating operations and unifying and accelerating the exchange of data between concerned parties, which contributes to enhancing preventive planning and keeping pace with the requirements of population and economic growth in the emirate.

For his part, Director General of the General Department of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, said that the role of Dubai Residency revolves around linking databases and exchanging information in an automated and secure manner with strategic partners, ensuring the provision of accurate data to all entities involved in providing the service, accelerating procedures, and issuing residency smoothly upon completion of requirements, which is directly reflected in the quality of the customer experience and the efficiency of the government system as a whole.

The Director General of Dubai Municipality, Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, confirmed that the launch of the “unified medical examination” service represents a strategic step to support the control and inspection system in the Emirate of Dubai, and reflects the commitment of government agencies in Dubai to provide innovative services that support the emirate’s global competitiveness, and keep pace with economic and population growth, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment in line with best international practices, and making Dubai the best city to live and work in the world.

For his part, Executive Director of “Dubai Health” and Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Amer Sharif, said: “The (unified medical examination) service embodies a qualitative leap in the development of joint government services, through unifying procedures and integrating systems between the concerned authorities, which contributes to facilitating the customer’s journey and raising the level of quality of the service provided.”

The “unified medical examination” service will be provided in eight medical fitness centers affiliated with “Dubai Health”, including: Al Garhoud Medical Fitness Centre, Al Nahda Medical Fitness Centre, Al Karama Medical Fitness Centre, Al Yalayis Medical Fitness Centre, Bur Dubai Medical Fitness Centre, Jebel Ali Free Zone Medical Fitness Centre, Zabeel Medical Fitness Centre, and the “Salem Smart” centres. Also, during the next phase, work will be done to increase the capacity of the fitness examination centres. Medical, to keep pace with the growth in the number of customers.
