"Dubai roads" Awarding the contract for the second phase of the Hessa Street development project

Dubai, February 22 / WAM / The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has awarded a contract for the second phase of the Hessa Street development project, from its intersection with Al Khail Road to its intersection with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, with a length of 3 kilometers, and includes the development of three main intersections, through the implementation of bridges with a length of 8,835 meters and a tunnel with a length of 480 meters, and developing the entrances and exits of a number of streets, which contributes to increasing the capacity by 100%, as It will increase from 4,000 vehicles per hour, to 8,000 vehicles per hour.
The project serves 10 residential and development areas, and contributes to reducing travel time from 24 minutes to five minutes, and the number of beneficiaries is estimated at approximately 650,000 people.
The Authority will open all works of the first phase of developing Hessa Street, the bridges, and the development of intersections and bicycle paths, next April.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said: “The second phase of the Hessa Street development project is a continuation of the first phase of the project, which will complete all its work in the first quarter of 2026.
He explained that the volume of traffic on the streets covered by the second phase of the Hessa Street development project is estimated at about half a million trips per day.
