UAE University honors academically distinguished faculty members, researchers and students
Al Ain, February 23, WAM / The United Arab Emirates University honored distinguished faculty members, researchers and students who have achieved qualitative research achievements by publishing in the top 1% of international scientific journals, during a ceremony hosted by the University Library Theater, in the presence of university leaders and an elite group of academics and researchers.
His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, stressed in a speech during the ceremony the importance of this event, which coincides with the university’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of its founding.
His Excellency said: “We gather today to celebrate distinguished research achievements that reflect the highest standards of academic excellence and enhance the position of leadership in thought and knowledge, and we honor faculty members and researchers who have published in the best 1% of scientific journals, and students who have distinguished themselves in these global research platforms.”
His Excellency added that research excellence is the result of cumulative work based on scientific passion, perseverance and cooperation, noting that these achievements contribute to enhancing the university’s reputation internationally and support its role as a leading research institution working to find solutions to national and global challenges.
He noted that in 2025, the UAE University exceeded (30) thousand scientific publications indexed in Scopus, making it the first university in the country to achieve this achievement, pointing out that approximately 44% of the university’s research production focuses on sustainability, which reflects clear harmony with national priorities and the global development agenda.
His Excellency the Supreme President honored the distinguished researchers and faculty members, in appreciation of their scientific contributions and their role in consolidating the culture of research and innovation at the university, and in confirmation of the university’s pride in the achievements of its researchers, and its commitment to continuing to support high-quality scientific research, and enhancing its position among the top 100 universities in the world.
