Diving ship "Hua Rui Long" It crosses the Suez Canal as part of the southern convoy, heading to Denmark

Cairo, February 23 / WAM / The Suez Canal Authority announced that the navigation movement in the canal witnessed today the crossing of the diving ship carrying ballasts “HUA RUI LONG” within the southern convoy, after crossing through Bab al-Mandab coming from Singapore and heading to Denmark, carrying on board the ship “Northern Endeavor”, explaining that the ship belongs to the Chinese company “Guangzhou Salvage Bureau”. Guangzhou Salvage Bureau” and was built in 2022, with a length of 252 meters, a width of 777 meters, a draft of 10.5 meters, and a total tonnage of 115,254 tons.

Lieutenant General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, said that the crossing of the ship took place with special navigational measures due to its width exceeding the maximum permissible limit of 75 metres. Navigational insurance was carried out by 4 tugboats and the appointment of 6 senior pilots, with real-time follow-up from the main movement office and pilotage stations along the canal, which reflects the canal’s readiness to receive various types and sizes of ships.

He pointed out that the Suez Canal received 27 ships of this category during the year 2025 and 4 ships since the beginning of this year, and that the southern sector development project raised the navigational safety factor by 28% and increased the width of the canal by 40 meters to the east, stressing that choosing to transit through the canal achieves an estimated saving of 3,432 nautical miles compared to other methods, thus reducing time, cost and carbon emissions.
