Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences concludes an initiative "Poet of Birq Al Dhafra" Her first session
Abu Dhabi, February 26 / WAM / Mohammed bin Zayed University for Human Sciences concluded the activities of the first session of the “Poet of Baraq Al Dhafra” initiative, which it launched to discover and nurture the poetic talents of young people and enhance their connection to the Arabic language and the heritage of the UAE.
The university crowned student Zayed Saif Al Mansouri in first place, after an outstanding performance, winning the title of “Poet of the Light of Dhafra” in its first edition.
The university honored those with advanced positions, in addition to members of the judging committee, trainers, and contributors to the success of the initiative, in appreciation of their contributions to supporting young people and honing their talents.
The final stage of the competition included 15 poets out of 54 participants, aged between 9 and 16 years, who embodied in their performances the spirit of the initiative and its goals.
His Excellency Ahmed Al-Hemairi, Deputy Director of Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Human Sciences for the Development and Investment Sector, said that the initiative reflects the university’s commitment to investing in people and preserving identity by consolidating the position of the Arabic language in the awareness and conscience of generations.
He added that the “Poet of Birq Al Dhafra” initiative has evolved from a framework of poetic competition to an integrated cultural project that polishes talents and enhances the connection to the authentic Emirati heritage.
Participants in the initiative received an integrated training program at the university’s headquarters in the Al Dhafra region, under the supervision of specialized professors, which included systematic training in the basics of Emirati poetry, in addition to practical applications in creative writing, the arts of elocution, and the development of imagination, within an educational framework that enhances cultural and national identity.
